In the wake of the recent catastrophic 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Jajarkot District on November 3, 2023, Helping Heart Nepal has mobilized swiftly to provide critical assistance to affected communities. The earthquake, centered in Ramidanda in Jajarkot district, has resulted in widespread destruction, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

As of November 5, 2023, the toll is heart-wrenching, with 157 lives lost (105 in Jajarkot and 52 in Rukum West), and hundreds reported injured. The impact on communities is profound, with thousands of homes reduced to rubble, displacing families and creating an urgent need for immediate support.

Our dedicated team is on the ground, conducting surveys to assess the extent of the devastation and identify the immediate needs of the affected population. Simultaneously, emergency relief efforts are in full swing, with the distribution of blankets, jackets, and food packages to provide essential support to those grappling with the aftermath of the earthquake.

However, the scale of this disaster demands a united response.
